Discovering Repertoire Class is a fairly new syllabus from the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and we are so excited to begin sharing this new course with you. About The exams are designed to be taken in a modular format as individual units: Unit: Class (barre and centre) Unit: Variation 1 (development exercises and Variation 1) Unit: Variation 2 (development exercises and Variation 2) On completion of each individual unit, students will receive a unit certificate. Students who successfully complete all three units of a single level as an exam will be awarded the total level qualification certificate. Discovering Repertoire is perfect for anyone who enjoys performing, loves a challenge or would be interested in taking ballet to the next level (considering a career in dance). Who can do this course? The minimum age for this course set by the RAD is 12+ for students who already have a basic foundation and understanding of ballet. The course can be taken on either Pointe or Demi-Pointe which means it’s a great opportunity for students to strengthen their Pointe work or work towards it.
